Spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Febri Hendri Antoni Arif said that his party was following up on a proposal from the Indonesian Textile Association (API) regarding incentives in the form of electricity payment relief. Febri said that his party had coordinated with textile industry entrepreneurs regarding these incentives. "The Ministry of Industry has held coordination meetings with textile industry entrepreneurs, especially regarding utilization, current electricity usage and other data," said Febri, Tuesday (4/7/2023).
Febri targets that the data needed for the provision of incentives can be completed this week. He said these data would be discussed by the Ministry of Industry and other ministries/institutions such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, and PT PLN (Persero).
"The results of the analysis will be discussed across sectors involving the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and PLN under the coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy," he said.
Previously, the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said he would follow up on the proposed Electricity Payment Relief Incentive for Industry which was submitted via letter by the Indonesian Textile Association (API) to the Main Director of PT PLN (Persero).
The electricity payment relief is in the form of relaxation in paying electricity bills, determining the amount of late payment fines at a reasonable rate, setting one electricity tariff (rate outside peak load times for industries that operate 24 hours). Apart from that, there is the provision of electricity tariff relief, and easing the use of Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS).
