The National Standardization Body (BSN) paid a visit to the Masalili Creative Weaving Cooperative, Kontunaga District, Muna Regency - Southeast Sulawesi, represented by the Deputy for Standard Application and Conformity Assessment of BSN, DR. Zakiyah, MM on Friday (14/7/2023). On this occasion, the Leader of IKM Lakude Weaving as well as Chair of the Masalili Creative Weaving Cooperative, Maulid, S.Pd explained that as many as 275 Weaving Craftsmen under the said Cooperative, had received training on Weaving, quality, the uniqueness of the Muna culture in Weaving patterns and motifs. "Masalili weaving dyes use natural ingredients derived from plants," he said. 

It is known that Masalili Woven Fabric has currently been promoted in several countries including France and Russia.

Meanwhile, BSN has issued Indonesian National Standards related to Weaving, namely SNI 8766:2019 Textiles - Terms and definitions of traditional woven fabrics, as well as the Conformity Assessment Scheme for Textiles and Clothing Products, supported by Conformity Assessment Agencies, both Product Certification Agencies, Testing Laboratories, and Quality System Certification Agencies which have the scope of Accreditation related to textiles.

 Talking about weaving which is very well known among Indonesian people, one of the Masalili weaving craftsmen, Wa Dona showed his expertise in weaving strands of red, yellow, blue and green colored thread, "To make one strand of woven fabric it takes 4 days, starting from handing to removing the weave," said Wa Dona to the Deputy for Application of Standards and Conformity Assessment of BSN, Dr. Zakiyah, MM who was accompanied by a member of the West Muna Regency DPRD, La Ode Amin; Head of the Cooperative Empowerment Division for Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province, Kasmawati, SP; as well as Representative of the Muna Regency Cooperative Office, Siti Atminur.

 The distinctive feature of the Masalili Woven Fabric is that it is bright in color such as blue, yellow, orange and green with the Samasili motif, Dhalima motif, Leja motif, including the stripe motif. It is known that almost all households have traditional looms and all women in Masalili Weaving Village have weaving skills.
